Sunday League
(aka. Vancouver Volleyball League)
Sunday League is a "Train & Play" style program. It is designed to give beginner/intermediate level athletes in Grade 3-12 an opportunity to develop their volleyball skills and play competitive games as part of a team, without having to go through the stress of tryouts.
Players will be assigned to a team at the beginning of the season (teammate requests are permitted). Each week, teams will participate in a variety of drills that help them develop all the basic volleyball skills, including setting, hitting, passing, defence, serving and blocking. This will be followed by some mini games against the other teams in the league.
Due to the popularity of this program, we will be using several different locations. The Boys Only league typically takes place at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary and the Co-ed league typically takes place at Crofton House or York House but this is subject to change. Players can request a specific location when they register but we cannot guarantee you will be assigned to this location. Location assignments will be sent out the week before the program begins and will be based on the number of registrations, availability of the facility, teammate requests, age, gender, and home address location of each player.
"BOYS ONLY" DIVISION AVAILABLE FOR GRADES 6-12
Boys may choose to register for the Co-ed League or Boys Only League for their age division.
