Pacific Coast Volleyball is a club program off-shoot of Vancouver Volleyball League, founded by Christian Redmann - a former Canadian Beach Volleyball National Team member and FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour player.
How Pacific Coast Volleyball was born...
2007: Christian, along with lifelong friend and mentor John Child (3 time Olympian and Olympic Bronze Medallist), started Leaside Volleyball Club in Toronto, ON, with the same goals in mind; increase participation at all levels. Christian and John launched a Sunday house league with the goal of developing athletes. Those athletes would eventually compete for Leaside's club teams.
2012: Thanks to his future wife, Christian found himself spending more time on Canada's Pacific Coast than ever before. He soon realized there were not as many avenues for Vancouver's youth sport community to participate in volleyball outside of school and club programs. With the help of close friends and family the details would eventually start falling into place for what would become Vancouver Volleyball League.
2016: VVL officially opens it's door for the first Sunday house league program! Not long after that, skills clinics and VVL's Select Teams took off. The feeling of accomplishment immediately sank in with over 200 active registrations in VVL's first year of operation.
2018: Following the success and inclusivity of VVL's Sunday house league the creation of Pacific Coast Volleyball Club was a natural progression. The goal remains the same as it did at the start; provide more opportunities for athletes of all ages and levels to continue participating in the sports of volleyball.
